Santa Fe Waterfalls – Top 8 in Popularity
Santa Fe is sometimes referred to as the land of waterfalls, as well it should! There are over fifty waterfalls in the district. Some are hidden falls, deep in the backcountry of Santa Fe National Park. Others are short walks, and one is even found at the side of the road. If you talk to locals, each may have their favorites. These eight are the most frequently visited falls in Santa Fe:
- Alto de Piedra Falls
- Loma Grande
- Llanito Falls
- Golondrinas Falls
- Bermejo Falls
- Falls at El Salto
- Falls at Isleta
- Falls at Chorrillon
And my favorite falls don’t even make the list! These waterfalls are like people, each has its own characteristics. Do you not like mud? Try the falls at El Chorrillon. Need a half day hike- you can’t go wrong with Bermejo Falls. Traveling with a young child, but want adventure, try the trek at Alto de Piedra. Want to see an indigenous community with a waterfall, go to Golondrinas.
